SACRAMENTO (June 10, 2021) - The Board of State and Community Corrections today approved release of a Request for Proposals for its Proud Parenting Grant Program.

Eligible applicants are California county probation departments, California county offices of education, non-governmental organizations in California, and federally recognized tribes in California. Successful applicants will receive up to $100,000 each year for the three-year grant cycle. The state budget historically provides $835,000 annually.

The Proud Parenting Grant Program was established 24 years ago. The intent is to support young parents who are or were involved in the juvenile system and/or child welfare system.

This grant program assists participants and their children by teaching valuable parenting skills, creating positive parent-child interactions, and improving co-parenting relationships.

The Request for Proposals will be posted on the BSCC homepage on June 11, 2021. Applications are due back by 5 p.m. on August 6, 2021.
