BSCC Seeks Public Input on Strategic Plan Development
SACRAMENTO (June 15, 2021) -- As the BSCC continues its strategic planning process, the agency invites public participation in the next step: deciding the objectives needed to meet each draft goal that the Board tentatively approved on June 10. The BSCC also is taking input on the wording of the goal statements.
A Zoom listening session has been set for 5 p.m. June 21, 2021.
Strategic planning is a multi-step process, and public comment is an important and valuable component.
The plan currently being devised will guide decision making and priorities for the years 2022-2026.
The first step in updating the BSCC’s strategic plan was the development of overarching organizational goals. This second and current step is to identify the organizational objectives that must be met to achieve the goals.
Compared to the broader achievement goals, objectives are smaller targets that set a roadmap to guide policies and resource allocation. Organizational objectives are short-term and medium-term targets.
At this public input session, the BSCC is seeking any recommend changes, modifications, or additions to the objectives drafted by the Board and the BSCC management team.

The public comments will be presented to the BSCC Board for discussion and consideration at its September 2021 meeting. The target date for plan approval is November 2021.
