Program and Team Information
The BSCC identified the following training courses ICDR Field Representatives are required to attend prior to conducting any in-custody death reviews and/or inspections:
- Basic Death Investigation course. This California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) training course includes 80-hours of instruction in death investigations and is held at the California Coroner’s Training Facility. - Internal Affair Investigations course. This California POST training course includes 24-hours of instruction in conducting administrative investigations and is offered throughout the state at community colleges and POST approved law enforcement training centers.
