Corrections Planning and Grant Programs

The CPGP Division administers federal and state grant programs for local partners that are designed to reduce recidivism through intervention, education, and prevention strategies.

Key responsibilities:

1.    Ensure the fair, prudent and efficient distribution of state and federal grant funds
2.    Prevent and reduce crime by encouraging use of evidence-based practices
3.    Engage in collaborative planning, ongoing research and information-sharing
4.    Provide grant related training and other technical assistance

Riverside County RSAT Turns Lives Around

BANNING – “It’s hard to turn a bad habit into a good habit, but that’s what I’m practicing every day,” a woman says, wiping tears as she remembers the behavior that has led to this moment of introspection. “This program reminds me of my choices, and that the ones I have made have not been healthy for me or my kids.”

Some Babies Come With Instructions

Amennah Moghaddam is a part of Alameda County's Proud Parenting Program. Referrals to the program come from the Probation Department and community. The goals are to break the intergenerational cycle of violence, provide young parents with basic parenting skills and therefore increase the chances the child will grow up outside of “the system.”
